This free online event, delivered by one of our subject specialists, supports teachers delivering Pearson Edexcel A Level English Literature. This training focuses on how to strengthen students’ skills in the reading of poetry and improving writing in exam conditions to meet the Assessment Objectives effectively.
You will consider:
• a range of exemplars for Section A of Component 3, identifying common strengths and weaknesses in AO1, 2 and 4
• reading and planning for comparison and how this differs from Component 3b
• a selection of the prescribed ‘Poems of the Decade’ and any particular pleasures and challenges they present
• useful examples of unseen poems to strengthen students’ reading skills
• classroom ideas to secure independent and secure readings of new poems
• a brief review of the range of free resources provided on the Pearson Edexcel website to support this component.
Please note: A recording of the event will be accessible exclusively to attendees within three days following the event. Subsequently, the recording will be added to the past training content area of the qualification website, secured behind a padlock, later in the term.
