This twilight course, for teachers of GCSE Mathematics, provides an opportunity to get some ideas on how to deliver and extend the topic of Vectors, which has historically had a low success rate in examinations. The session will end with a look at some useful resources which can be used to support your existing materials and save valuable preparation time.
- To look briefly at the specification requirement for covering the Vectors topic
- To look at some past examination questions and see which successes and areas for improvement came to light
- To share some teaching strategies from the basics of the topic (i.e. The cross over from Foundation to Higher Tier) right up to the most demanding questions towards the end of a Higher paper
- See how other Pearson qualifications, like International GCSE (Spec B) can provide a rich source of extension questions on Vectors
Who will benefit from attending?
All teachers of GCSE Mathematics, who would like to develop their knowledge and practice or colleagues new to teaching Key Stage 4 Higher Tier.
Delegates will get a bank of resources to support teaching and learning.
