Deep Dive Lesson Planning Individual Delegate Course
This 1-hour course is for any teachers who have completed the core training and would like to develop a greater depth of understanding about how to plan a lesson using the Power Maths resources. It may be a relatively experienced primary teacher who is new to Power Maths, or one who has been using Power Maths for a while. Whoever it is, this course will allow teachers to dedicate time to thinking about how to efficiently and effectively adapt a Power Maths lesson for their particular class. It may also be used to support ‘fidelity’ to Power Maths: an opportunity to draw teachers together and establish how the scheme will be used across year groups, thus ensuring a consistent approach throughout the school.
In this course, teachers will revisit the parts of the Power Maths lesson. They will think about the importance of a Starter and an End of Lesson reflection, have an opportunity to look at the Teacher Guide in more depth, and generally reflect on Best Practice when it comes to planning a lesson. Teachers will also follow through a Power Maths lesson with other delegates, share ideas, and have opportunities to discuss how it might be adapted to suit their class.
The session is suitable for teachers of KS1 and KS2. (Note that there is a separate course for teachers of Reception.)
