GCSE Design and Technology: Development and Manufacture
04 November 2025 at 16:00-17:30 GMT
This free online event, delivered by one of our D&T specialists, supports teachers delivering Pearson Edexcel GCSE Design and Technology.
The training covers Grids 2.3, 2.4, 2.5, 3.1a, 3.1b, and 3.2 of the assessment criteria for Component 2 and is designed to build teacher confidence in guiding students through the grids.
You will:
• review the assessment criteria for Grids 2.3, 2.4, 2.5, 3.1a, 3.1b, and 3.2
• examine exemplar student work for each of these grids
• discuss and ask questions about the interpretation and application of these grids
• explore practical tips for supporting students throughout the design and review process
• engage with a principal moderator to clarify expectations and standards for this component.
The course aims to explore the assessment criteria in depth, focusing on how the standard is applied throughout the development and manufacturing sections, and how quality and accuracy are evaluated when using a range of materials and processes.
Please note: A recording of the event will be available to attendees within three days of the event. We will also be releasing a copy on our YouTube channel, accessible via the Professional Development Academy, later in the term.
This event counts as 1.5 hours of CPD.
You will receive a certificate via email after the event.
