GCSE Design and Technology: Low Cost Prototyping (Face-to-Face)

This full-day training course is designed to support teachers in delivering the Pearson Edexcel GCSE Design and Technology specification, even with limited access to materials, resources, and equipment. This hands-on session will provide practical strategies for guiding students in producing low/no-cost prototypes, utilising Microbits and robotics to create quality prototypes.
Registration will close 1 week before the event date.
Lunch will be provided at this event.
This event counts as 5 hours of CPD. You will receive an e-certificate by email, post attendance.
About the trainers
John Pinkney from Raising Robots (an Authorised LEGO® Education Partner) has extensive experience of teaching and school leadership. John has spent years integrating LEGO robotics and hands-on learning into classrooms across the UK. As a LEGO Education Academy Certified Trainer, John leads professional development sessions for teachers, helping them harness the power of robotics to inspire student creativity and problem-solving. He develops adaptable, curriculum-aligned teaching materials for national STEM programmes and is committed to making learning engaging and accessible for all students.
Ed Charlwood was a D&T teacher and HoD for almost 20 years in the State, Independent and Charity sectors. He now leads D&T for 2 MATs, and he is also Head of Education for CADclass, and is an Autodesk Academic Partner.
