GCSE Geography A and B: Supporting higher-attaining students

This online event is intended to support teachers who are delivering Pearson Edexcel GCSE Geography A and B and would like training to support students with high prior attainment. This training will cover the mark scheme requirements for extended writing questions that enable student responses to access the top levels. It will also explore strategies to strengthen students’ ability to think geographically.
You will:
• look at the ways in which exam papers differentiate higher-attaining students
• consider how higher-attaining students perform across exam papers and question types
• look at exemplar student responses
• discover strategies for improving critical evaluation and synoptic thinking skills
• explore how to support high attaining students in exam preparation.
Please note: A recording of the event will be available to attendees within three days of the event. This event counts as 2 hours of CPD.
