Supporting New and Aspiring Head of Department for Maths
Multiple dates.
This is a re-run of the events from 2023. This series of 3 CPD sessions provides a comprehensive package to support new and aspiring Heads of Department for maths. The sessions are written and presented by Naomi Bartholomew-Millar.
There are three 90-minute webinars which includes time for Q&A. (Attendees need to come along to all three sessions.)
Session 1: Managing Staff
Thursday 2 October 16:00-17:30
In this session we will look at how we can support all staff working in our departments and delivering our curriculum, from ECTs to non-specialists. We will also consider strategies for managing difficult conversations.
Session 2: Planning the Curriculum
Tuesday 11 November 16:00-17:30
Here we will look at how to quality assure your curriculum. Do you achieve what you want from the current model? What do your assessments actually test and what information do you get from them? We will look at how to embed the use of technology to support the learning across all phases of the school.
Session 3: Managing an Exam Series
Tuesday 13 January 16:00-17:30
This session will include suggestions and ideas on how to manage effective revision sessions and tutoring, plus monitoring data from the mocks and a case study from a school.
This series of events can count as 4.5 hours of CPD. You will receive an e-certificate by email, post attendance.
Please note: As this session may be repeated, and to ensure recorded content is not accessed by undisclosed third parties, it is Pearson’s policy not to share recordings for paid training events.
