The English Link: Connecting GCSE English Resit to Vocational Pathways
18 November 2025 at 16:00-17:00 GMT
How can GCSE English feel more meaningful to resit students on vocational pathways. This session explores how to connect the demands of English specifications with the real-world skills and contexts of vocational programmes.
We’ll examine ways to align curriculum content with vocational areas such as Construction and Art & Design, where natural crossovers can be found.
Through collaborative discussion, resource sharing, and planning prompts, we’ll consider how to design tasks, texts, and assessments that reflect the working realities of learners.
Whether you’re delivering English, managing curriculum, or working in a vocational setting, this session offers strategies to support cross-college and cross-subject collaboration.
Please note: A recording of the event will be available to attendees within three days of the event. We will also be releasing a copy on our YouTube channel, accessible via the Professional Development Academy, later in the term.
This event counts as 1 hour of CPD. You will receive a certificate via email after the event.
