Understanding Assessment & Improving Delivery in International GCSE Physics Modular - 22 September 2025

This online training is designed for teachers teaching the Pearson Edexcel International GCSE Physics Modular Assessment Pathway.
The focus of this session will be on the modular assessment of the specification, and how your understanding of how these assessments are structured for the qualification and how your teaching can be adapted to help your students’ performance on examination papers.
By the end of this training session delegates will,
• Be introduced to the idea of assessment objectives: what are they and why they are used when writing the modular examination papers.
• Analyse recent modular question papers and learn which types of question match the different assessment objectives.
•Investigate different assessment objectives, considering how questions in these areas have been answered by looking at feedback from previous exam series.
• Discuss strategies for teaching to try and make sure students can access questions targeting different assessment objectives.
• Network, discuss best practice and share ideas with other teachers.
There is a self-study component of this specification, the link to this module will be made available in the run up to the event and will be available after the event.
This training counts as 2 hours of CPD.
You will receive an e-certificate and a digital badge after the session via email.
